President of the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC), Joseph Kabila, in his speech to the nation Sunday called on the Congolese to "consolidate peace" and to "win the battle of reconstruction" of a country ravaged by conflicts, during this 48th anniversary of independence.

 Kinshasa: Panel discussion on international aid to countries in a situation of vulnerability.

The Congolese Ministry of Planning and delegations of countries in situations of fragility meet in Kinshasa on Tuesday 1st July 2008. The meeting aims at preparing Accra summit to be held in the coming weeks to release a joint declaration on the principles of international aid. Afghanistan, Timor, Liberia, Rwanda, Burundi and other countries in Africa have been attending the meeting. Congolese planning minister Olivier Kamitatu speaks about the meaning of talks.

 Fizi : return of 460 Congolese refugees in Tanzania Kinshasa, july 3dr, 2008.
The Congolese were welcomed Wednesday in Fizi territory in Baraka Mushimbakye. According to the National Commission for Refugees (NCR), they have been staying in the Congolese consulate of Kigoma, Tanzania, by the Tanzanian immigration service for their repatriation, among them, 200 persons expelled for illegal residence.

 Czech Republic pledged to upgrade agricultural sector in the DRC Kinshasa, july 3rd, 2008.
It was issued by its ambassador in Kinshasa, Jan Filipensky, minister of Agriculture and Rural Development. It aims at upgrading and mechanizing agriculture. Aside from tractors, the Czech Republic will intervene in rural electrification.

A judge of the International Criminal Court ordered yesterday Wednesday 2nd July in The Hague, the provisional release of Thomas Lubanga, the first charged with this international institution. The implementation of the decision is pending.

 The Government indorses the construction of social housing in Mitendi. Kinshasa, 2nd July 2008
The government has indorsed the building of social housing in Mitendi, located in Mont Ngafula. The Minister of Urban Development and Housing Sylvain Ngabu Chumbu, has signed an agreement with a non-governmental organization called “Congo Development”.
