Question: What the new seminar is about?

Kimbembe Mazunga:
Firstly, soldiers and police officers deserve honor because they pay their blood for the country and we need to pay them our considerations. Thus, building them new housing would certainly be one of the best ways to honor them. The advantage of this seminar is to bring together key actors to analyze necessary opportunities to improve housing conditions of soldiers. Hence the participation of officials of the police and the Congolese army, the ministry of Public Works and Reconstruction, the town hall and organizations involved in sharing lands.
The Head of State, Mr. Joseph Kabila is convinced that the time has come to support soldiers, so that they find solutions to problems they are facing.

Q: What should we expect from the seminar?

KM:
After this meeting, recommendations will result from discussions of the participants. Participants, including government members and military officials will have specifications, which will serve as a sustainable way to find solutions.
We should not omit that among participants, there are also personalities of the economic sector, bankers who have an important role to play in this perspective; rehabilitating and improving housing conditions for soldiers. The real problem is to find funding for new housing construction. The case of Kokolo Camp is now at the center town and whose movement calls for substantial finance.
