Education: President Joseph KABILA inaugurated the elementary school “NGEBA”, Bas-Congo.

Monday September1st, 2008, pupils throughout the country resumed school and it was also the inauguration day of the primary school NGEBA by the Head of State Joseph KABILA. It was in the presence of Bas-Congo governor, his assistant, members of the central and provincial government as well as some deputies and senators.

 

 

NGEBA School is part of the Diocese of KISANTU, MADIMBA territory. It was rehabilitated by the personal involvement of President Kabila for a total of USD 520,083.

Regarding the work, three new 12-classroom buildings, two offices, a meeting room and one toilet were built. It was also a four-classroom building and a shop.


This school is one of the best primary schools in the DRC, has also been equipped with 400 desks, office supplies, tables for teachers and 50 chairs, said Mr. MATATA PONYO, the chief executive of the Central Coordination Office who supervised the work.

For him, the school has now reached an increase of 25% of its capacity and can now accommodate 1500 students in good conditions.

Bas Congo Governor Simon MBATSHI thanked on behalf of all people of his province, the head of state for the implementation and realization of his promise. He also expressed the hope to see the development of his province.

After cutting the ribbon symbolic, the Head of State toured the new premises of this school. It should be noted that the school was founded in 1956 to the personal initiative of Mr. PETILLON, then Governor General of Congo, Rwanda and Urundi.
