Butembo: North Kivu governor launched construction work of the University of Ruwenzori.

The work actually started on Friday January 2, 2009. The laying of the first stone took place on Wednesday December 31, 2009 by the governor of North Kivu, Julien Paluku. The work is funded by the provincial government up to $100 000. Several homes, auditoriums, library, administration building will be constructed for a period of two years.

Education as one of the country’s five pillars is also occupies an important place in the provincial government.  

The choice of this date announced the Chief Executive of the province, is to predict the year 2009 as year of work and development. The Government's determination is large because the country, the DRC needs students, tomorrow’s leaders.
